75% in Pak say they’re Muslims first

No CommentsA British Council’s report has shockingly revealed that an overwhelming three quarters of people in Pakistan consider themselves as Muslims first and Pakistani’s second. “Only 10% have faith in national or local government, the courts or police, while three quarters see themselves as Muslims first, Pakistani second, compared to just 14% who see themselves as primarily a citizen of Pakistan,” the Daily Times quoted the report, as saying.
Pakistan has more productive youths than dependents, yet is has done nothing to tap this favourable ratio, the report said. According to the British Council’s Next Generation Report on Pakistan, the country is going through a favourable ratio of productive young to old, but it has done nothing to address this demographic dividend over the past two decades.
The report highlighted that this “window of opportunity”, which opened in 1990, would close in 2045, which gives the country “little over 35 years to change course and reap the economic and social potential attached to such an opportunity”. The report also pointed out that only 15% of the country’s youth believe that the country is headed in the right direction. It said that over 92% youth considered education an important issue which must be addressed soon.
It, however, noted that there is a widespread discontent with regard to democracy among the youth of the country. Only one third of country’s youth considered democracy best for the country, while another third preferred Sharia. “Pakistan is at a crossroads. It can harness the energy of that generation and collect a demographic dividend. But if they fail to get jobs and are poorly educated, it faces a demographic disaster,” said David Steven, an academic, who helped write the report.

No CommentsNet Asset Value is always mentioned when we talk about a mutual fund. It indicates the value of a fund’s assets after taking away its liabilities. An individual needs to divide the subtracted value by the number of units outstanding in order to calculate the exact value of it. Association of Mutual Funds of India has made it obligatory to announce NAVs of mutual funds every day.
It is employed to buy units of mutual funds. The units assigned to an investor are simply the sum to be allocated to be divided by the present Net Asset Value of the fund. It is estimated at the close of each trading day. As dividend paid is deducted, the Net Asset Value of the dividend option of a similar fund is lower than the growth option of the same fund.
The Net Asset Value of all strategies of all key fund houses is showcased every day on their individual websites. The value’s vacillation or its increase or decrease shows the performance of its fund against the yardstick it monitors.
The units to be assigned to an investor are determined after the close of a trading day in case of purchase or sell of a fund on a certain day. The redemption value is always lower than the Net Asset Value of the units multiplied by the Net Asset Value in case of a fund with an exit load, which is due to the exit load. Therefore, this is all about the Net Asset Value of a mutual fund.

Growth stocks are the stocks to watch out for in the stock market. Growth stocks are good investments when the market is on a rise. Growth stocks continue to ascend when everyone is bullish in the market. They are usually the first to face hardships during bear markets. They decline when the mat gets pulled out from under them due to their inflated rates.
Stocks that shell out dividends are likely to do somewhat better during bear markets. Although, the worth of dividend paying stocks will most probably drop during a bear market also, the firm related to the stock should still pay a dividend. Holding a dividend paying stock enables the holder to gather standard dividend payments just like holding a leasing property enables the holder to gather standard lease payments. Dividends also presently enjoy favored tax treatment.
When stock rates in general are increasing during bull markets, both growth-stock investors and dividend investors earn. When stock rates in general are decreasing during bear markets, dividend investors are likely to do better than growth-stock investors. Dividend stocks usually do well in the long term.
